Jimmie Sundae, Kiltie, Oconomowoc WI
I ate this HERE (note: you probably can’t see the other photos on your dashboard…lame):

The Kiltie is one of my favorite places to eat because it combines a few of my favorite things: Wisconsin, summer, drive-ins, and frozen custard. Oh, and America.
Located in Oconomowoc, The Kiltie was a highlight of many of my summers. My friend’s family had a house on Lake Oconomowoc that we would spend a weekend at, and nothing cured the sunburn pain and wake boarding legs than a daily trip to the Kiltie.
Famous for their frozen custard, they also offer traditional drive-in food like burgers, fries, and onion rings, with some Sconnie favorites like brats and fish fry and pizza steak(?). All of this food is bought right to your car so you can enjoy your fat while sitting on your lazy ass!!

I think we only got real food (as opposed to dessert) here once, and it was decent for a drive-in in the middle of Wisconsin. The custard, however, is magical. I usually got a Jimmie (that’s sprinkles) sundae but occasionally would switch to a chocolate shake. The one thing on the dessert menu I am still curious about is the “Animal Circus—for the kids.” I’m pretty sure we asked about this, and it had something to do with animal crackers, but no one ever ordered one.
Last time I was at the Kiltie was 2007 and I found a gift certificate for 5 whole dollars so if anyone wants to drive up to the OC for some Jimmies and custard, Let me know. I’ve got a frozen custard craving.

Would you eat this/here?
